Dorit Kemsley is opening up about her divorce from PK Kemsley, her complicated relationship with Boy George and what really happened with Beverly Beach.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star recently sat down with Extra’s Terri Seymour to discuss her new memoir, Unburdened, which is set to be released on June 2. In the book, Dorit covers some of the most difficult chapters of her life, including her terrifying home invasion, the breakdown of her marriage and the emotional toll of trying to rebuild while living so much of it in the public eye.
Dorit and PK are currently in the middle of a messy divorce, and their finances have also become a major topic of conversation. Amid reports that their family home was edging toward foreclosure, PK claimed Dorit spent $1 million on designer items. Kemsley denied those allegations during her interview and said she plans to respond to the claims legally.
But one of the more personal parts of the conversation centered around Boy George, who has been closely tied to Dorit and PK for years.
Kemsley admitted she once believed George would be able to stay close to both her and PK despite their split, but she now realizes that may not be the case.
“I actually thought, naively perhaps, that George would be one of those that would be able to have a relationship with both of us, and I was wrong. And that’s okay. It is what it is, however, when PK and I are good, or we are okay, suddenly George is okay. So I think it will very much depend on the relationship I have with PK, and that will dictate my relationship with George,” Dorit said.
Boy George has been part of Dorit and PK’s world since Dorit joined RHOBH. PK has managed the music icon, and George has appeared on the show over the years, making him feel like an extended part of the Kemsley family dynamic.
Kemsley also addressed what happened with Beverly Beach By Dorit, the swimwear and resort wear brand she launched while on RHOBH.

According to Kemsley, the brand faced major challenges when COVID disrupted production and forced her to reevaluate the business.
“I launched Beverly Beach By Dorit and then COVID happened and I had all of my factories in Los Angeles, and everything was shut for an extended period of time and when that happens, the fashion year, you sort of follow a cycle, and so everything had to be pushed, and when it came time for me to launch a new collection, it felt like I needed to pause, regroup, and then decide whether I want to continue with swimwear or resort wear or change it entirely,” Dorit explained.
Dorit said that just as she was trying to figure out the next chapter of her business, another life changing event happened.
“And then the home invasion happened, and I really needed to take a step back,” she added.
Dorit’s 2021 home invasion has been one of the most traumatic events she has discussed publicly. RHOBH viewers watched her process the aftermath on camera, including the fear, anxiety and PTSD symptoms she experienced after intruders entered her home while her children were inside.
Her new memoir appears to dive deeper into that trauma, along with the emotional unraveling of her marriage to PK.
Dorit and PK announced their separation after years of speculation about their relationship. Since then, their split has only become more complicated, with financial allegations, divorce filings and public comments adding fuel to the drama.
Despite everything, Dorit has made it clear that she is trying to move forward with strength. She has said she is not driven by fear and believes in her ability to work, support her children and rebuild her life.
