In a recent interview with Vulture, Andy spoke candidly about being at the center of ongoing discourse surrounding the network and its shows. Over the years, he’s often been labeled as the face of Bravo and, by some outlets, even referred to as the person in charge of everything behind the scenes.

But according to Andy, that perception doesn’t fully reflect reality.

“I still get the gross oversimplifications and misrepresentations of my roles,” he said, pointing to how frequently he’s described as something he says he is not. “Page Six still refers to me as the ‘Bravo Honcho.’ I’m sure our PR people call Page Six, saying, ‘Do you realize he’s not?’”

Andy also admitted that he’s had to change how he engages with public criticism over time.

“I don’t think about it anymore,” he said, explaining that he stepped away from Twitter a few years ago for his mental health. He now spends more time on Threads, where he says the tone feels different.

“It’s so fun,” he added. “I can troll MAGA people, which I love doing.”

While Andy downplays the criticism, he remains a central figure in the Bravo universe, especially as the longtime host of reunion specials and Watch What Happens Live. That visibility has often made him a target when viewers take issue with casting, storylines, or how certain situations are handled on screen.

At the same time, his role has been debated for years. While he is not a network executive in the way many assume, he has held an executive producer title on multiple franchises and has been closely tied to the brand’s identity since its early growth.

That connection has also come with controversy. From accusations of favoritism among cast members to criticism over how certain topics have been addressed at reunions, Andy has frequently found himself part of the conversation rather than just the moderator of it.

Even so, his latest comments suggest he’s no longer as focused on how he’s perceived.

Despite ongoing opinions from fans, Andy appears content letting the conversation happen around him, even as he pushes back on what he sees as an oversimplified version of his role within Bravo.
