Jennifer Aniston’s favourite workout found to have surprising benefits for women

Jennifer Aniston’s workout routine not only keeps the The Morning Show star in shape, it also helps alleviate the symptoms of menopause according to a new study.

Aniston, 55, is a devotee of Pvolve, for which she is also an ambassador. The workout routine founded was by Rachel Katzman and pairs functional movement with resistance equipment “to build strong, mobile bodies”.

It is a pilates-inspired workout method that became popular during COVID lockdown, with Aniston signing up in 2021 anonymously and becoming an ambassador in 2023 after seeing the results first-hand.

A recent study by the University of Exeter, published in the journal Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, is particularly effective at “improving strength and balance in women during and post-menopause”.

“This study is the first time researchers have found the benefits of resistance exercise on lower limb strength and balance can be maintained throughout the menopause transition, through engaging with specific types of exercise,” the study said.

Researchers aimed to discover if the workout routine could improve strength, balance, and body composition. They found that women aged 40 to 60 who followed the program had far better results than those who just followed the standard government health advice to do 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week.

The average age women experience menopause in Australia is 51, although perimenopause can begin as young as 40.

However it comes at a cost due to the pricey equipment needed.

The most popular Polve package, the Total Transformation Bundle, currently costs US$624.99 ($1,002.75). There are more affordable packages with less equipment on offer.

Season four of The Morning Show airs on Apple TV in 2025, with a release date yet to be confirmed. Aniston costars alongside Reese Witherspoon.
