Awards season for 2026 has officially begun!
The Critics Choice Awards are taking place today in Santa Monica, California, with some of the world’s biggest stars set to attend.
Comedian Chelsea Handler is returning as host for the fourth year in a row, but there is one major shift in this year’s show with four new categories introduced: Best variety series, best stunt design, best casting and ensemble, and best sound.
Ryan Coogler’s hit vampire flick Sinner’s leads the pack this year with a whopping 17 nominations, closely followed by Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, with a total of 14.
In terms of TV, Netflix execs are sure to be smiling as the network’s single-take drama Adolescence is going into the ceremony with a total of six nominations, and the hit comedy Nobody Wants This trailing close behind with five.
This year’s event is expected to be particularly star-studded with actors such as Adam Sandler, Leonardo DiCaprio, Emma Stone, Ariana Grande, and Sean Penn all nominated in their respective categories.
