Pop superstar Katy Perry has ended months of speculation about the status of her relationship with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Perry, 41, overnight uploaded a series of photos and videos to Instagram of her trip to Tokyo, and included Trudeau in the carousel for the first time since their relationship was made public.
Her move comes just two days after former Japanese PM Fumio Kishida hard-launched Perry and Trudeau’s relationship by sharing an image of a meeting between himself and wife Yuko with the newish couple on X, formerly Twitter.
Perry was in Japan for two concerts on December 3 and 4 as part of her The Lifetimes Tour.
It appears she decided to mix business with pleasure by inviting Trudeau to accompany her on the trip.
“Tokyo times on tour and more,” she wrote alongside a series of photos and videos of her time in Japan.
Among them was an image of herself and Trudeau looking every bit the loved up couple as they snuggled up with their cheeks pressed together.

A cute video captured Perry sampling the local cuisine while Trudeau looked on adoringly at his new flame.
The final video appeared to show the pair, who were filmed from behind, looking at an art installation.
The Instagram post followed Kishida’s public acknowledgment of the union on X.
“Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited Japan with his partner and joined my wife and me for lunch,” he wrote alongside an image of the foursome in front of a Christmas tree.
“During his time as prime minister, we met multiple times as fellow leaders, and when I visited Canada, we worked together to strengthen bilateral relations, including formulating the ‘Japan-Canada Action Plan,’ sweating it out side by side.
“I am delighted that we continue to maintain this friendship in this way.”
The two men were dressed formally in suits and ties, while Perry did her best to look demure.
She wore a brown suit consisting of a mini skirt and cropped jacket which she paired with a black shirt and completed the look with black stockings and black mid-calf boots.

Perry, and Trudeau, 53, were first spotted together in July – the same month the Fireworks singer confirmed she and fiance Orlando Bloom had split after a nine-year relationship that resulted in the birth of daughter Dove, now five.
The new couple were seen walking a dog before they grabbed drinks at Taverne Atlantic in Montreal and were photographed later that same night looking cosy in a restaurant in Montreal.
Just two nights later, eagle-eyed fans spotted Trudeau in the crowd during Perry’s The Lifetimes Tour concert in Montreal.
However, there were no more sightings of the pair and no confirmation of the coupling until October, when they were photographed kissing and canoodling on board her yacht, which was sailing off the coast of Santa Barbara in California.
People reported at the time that Trudeau had been pursuing Perry ever since their first date, and had flown to California to see her during a break in her tour.
“They have an easy connection. She finds him attractive. He’s been very respectful,” People quoted a source as saying.
Days later, Perry seemed to confirm she and Trudeau were dating during a playful interaction with a fan at one of her concerts in London.
When an admirer asked her to marry him, she told the crowd, “No wonder I fall for Englishmen all the time – but not anymore.
“You know, you really should have asked me about 48 hours ago.”
Trudeau, like Perry, has been married once. He wed Sophie Grégoire in 2005, and they had three children together before announcing their separation in August 2023.
Meanwhile Perry was married to controversial British comedian and actor turned self-help YouTuber Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012.
