When she first revealed her health scare, Spencer shared a video from her hospital bed, writing: “Meanwhile, completely out of left field-I thought I’d take a short break from music to have myself a splenic aneurysm 🙄.”

She then praised surgeons, adding: “Hooray for the surgeons of the world, who boldly go where most of us could not conceive of going. Huge respect and gratitude 🙏💫.”

A splenic artery aneurysm, according to the Cleveland Clinic, ”is a bulge in the artery that supplies blood to your spleen” and symptoms can include pain in the stomach area and even internal bleeding if it ruptures.

“The music industry is in a strange place in a lot of ways, but for me personally, this just feels right for me at this time. I feel excited about it and ready to do it.”

“I hope it translates that feeling that we all have the capability to constantly restart ourselves,” Spencer said about Regenerate.

“It’s sort of a message of hope and a message that as humans we do have that ability to regenerate and reboot ourselves and get back on track.

“I’m coming back after 14 years and it is that kind of concept of having to reboot yourself every now and then in life.”
