He’s the Irish actor tough enough to portray the iconic 007, James Bond, but just don’t give Pierce Brosnan some hot salsa!
The actor, 72, appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week alongside his The Thursday Murder Club co-star Helen Mirren, 80, the pair trying some of Fallon’s homemade salsa with some chips.
Brosnan couldn’t handle the heat and almost ”choked,” after Mirren called the food “fabulous”.

Brosnan started clearing his throat and took some sips of water and admitted: “I don’t do hot sauce or jalapeños.”
“He’s choking!” Fallon jokingly remarked.
Brosnan joked: “No, it’s ok, I’ll be fine. You two just carry on… it’s ok, just pretending.”
While Brosnan struggled with the salsa, Mirren loved it and carried on eating.

These stars returned to their iconic movie roles years later
The pair star in Netflix’s The Thursday Murder Club, where a group of retirees investigate murders, before becoming suspects in one.
Directed by Chris Columbus, it is based on the novel of the same name.

Brosnan has kept himself busy in recent years and is also known for the 2025 series MobLand, and films including The Out-Laws, and Four Letters of Love.
He is married to American journalist and author Keely Shaye Smith, 61, who he married back in 2001.
As the pair marked their anniversary last year, Brosnan did a tribute post and wrote about his wife: “Happy 23rd anniversary my darling Keely my beautiful brown eyed girl, my north, my south, my east and west.”
“All my love, should I fall behind wait for me.”
