Lauren Manzo’s Divorce Finalized: Key Details of Custody, Support Payment and Financial Settlement Revealed

The highly anticipated divorce of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Lauren Manzo from Vito Scalia has officially been finalized. After a year of separation and legal proceedings, the couple, who tied the knot in 2015, are now moving forward with their separate lives. The couple’s divorce comes after eight years of marriage, with Vito filing in September 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of their split.

Custody and Co-Parenting Arrangements

One of the most important aspects of the divorce is the well-being of their 7-year-old daughter, Markie. According to documents obtained by Daily Mail, both Lauren Manzo and Vito Scalia agreed to joint legal custody, with Markie residing primarily with Lauren, while spending time with Vito at an alternate residence. The couple’s agreement shows their commitment to co-parenting in a manner that supports Markie’s emotional health. The exes even decided to consult a therapist to help explain the divorce to their daughter.

They have set forth some clear guidelines, including refraining from arguing or speaking negatively about the other parent in front of Markie. Additionally, they have agreed to avoid filming their daughter for TV appearances without prior consent from both parties. This thoughtful approach to their daughter’s upbringing shows their commitment to making the transition as smooth as possible for her.

Financial and Property Settlements

The financial aspects of the divorce have also been decided. Vito will pay $1,000 a month in child support, based on their respective incomes of $230,000 (Vito) and $80,000 (Lauren). Along with child support, Vito will also pay Lauren $4,000 per month in alimony for 27 months. This alimony amount is non-modifiable unless certain circumstances arise, like Lauren’s remarriage or cohabitation with another partner.

In addition to this financial support, Lauren walks away with the couple’s marital home in Wayne, New Jersey. The home, which they purchased in 2016 for $500,000, is now solely in Lauren’s name, after Vito transferred ownership. The couple had agreed on a buyout price of $30,000 for Vito’s share, plus an additional $25,000 from Lauren’s retirement assets.

What’s Next for Lauren Manzo?

Despite the tough split, Lauren appears to be moving forward with her professional and personal life. She has transitioned from running her former makeup and skincare boutique, Cafface Beauty Bar, to operating Fullblown Blow-Out & Beauty Lounge, a beauty salon offering services like facials, blowouts, makeup, and waxing.

Meanwhile, Vito has moved on, reportedly dating a new girlfriend, Dominique Valenti, as of July 2024. Though he has kept their relationship private, the couple has been spotted sharing intimate moments, including kissing, on social media.
